Review of Carnival of Souls (1962) by Ryan V — 24 Jul 2012
Mary Henry (Candace Hilligoss) is the sole survivor of a drag race gone crushingly haywire. She tries to move on with her life by picking up a job as a church organist, but Mary is continually haunted by a ghoulish apparition.
Carnival of Souls has a strong cult reputation, but I found it to be cheaply made and poorly filmed. As a whole, it felt like an overlong Twilight Zone episode that had been robbed of all appeal or presence.
