Review of Carnage (2011) by Karrie V — 24 May 2012
Kate Winslet, Jodie Foster, Christoph Waltz, and John C. Reilly are damn funny in Carnage. Carnage is one of those films that won't attract too many movie goers, not because it's not a good movie, but because it's not a film that doesn't excite fans the way crappy movies like the Transformers or Pirates of the Caribbean does.
Carnage plays pretty much as a recorded play. That being said, it's hilarious. Jodie Foster is crazy, Kate Winslet is a nervous reck, John C. Reilly is a supposed laid hardworking dad, and Christoph Waltz is a hilarious. The revolves around the two couples discussing a situation in which their children were in a fight, and the blame is being passed around. While that doesn't matter much to the film, it does set up a chance for these actors to work together and make a very funny film.
Although Christoph Waltz had a tough time with an American accent, he was probably my favorite/funniest character of the film. If you like good movies, where dialogue drives the film, then you are going to like Carnage.
