Review of Carlito's Way (1993) by Brandon T — 06 Oct 2010
Carlito's Way is very under rated and the movie totally exceeded my expectations. The movie was thrilling, with twists, and a very memorable new story to support it. I don't think this movie is similar to De Palma's untouchables or scarface.
Sean Penn gives an excellent performance ie better than Mystic River's. Al Pacino is really good. Of course you shouldn't compare Carlito to Michael Corleone or Tony Montana. The ending is a little too fast but this movie is a near classic.
I surprisingly loved it.
