Review of Cantinflas (2014) by Amanda S — 14 Dec 2014
I saw this movie about Cantinflas just two days ago and I loved every second of it because it answered all the questions I had in my mind about him. I cried when Mike Todd died. I loved Cantinflas in Around the World in Eighty Days.
I met nearly all the stars in that movie, so it has always been a joy to watch. It was a huge starring role and he was fantastic. He succeeded it making it charming, funny and memorable. I am also a big circus fan and he was such a wonderful clown.
A real show biz star. The man who played him was so talented and graceful and lovable and convincing. I would definitely want to see this movie again. I was a teenager when I saw this movie and was disappointed not to see Cantinflas in other movies after this one.
I have a huge autograph collection and I put Cantinflas in my collection even though I did not meet him or get his autograph, just because I have that much respect for him as a great actor. The movie is never sleazy and I think kids would enjoy it.
