Review of Candyman: Day of the Dead (1999) by Matthew L — 27 Feb 2011
As quick as we may be to criticise the Nightmare or Friday franchises at least they kept a consistency of quality, budget wise, between films. Candyman 3 looks and feels nothing like the previous two entries the decrease in budget is painfully obvious.
The bargain basement cast including one time Baywatch 'babe' D'Errico as the lead is bad enough but the dialogue is even worse. Todd is reduced to repeating the same half dozen lines of dialogue almost every time he is on screen.
Let us hope that the, rumored, forth coming Candyman 4: The Tribe is more of a step in the right direction.
