Review of Calvaire (2005) by Brandon S — 20 Apr 2010

French horror films tend to be hit and miss, unfortunatly this one of the misses. The story is about a lounge singer that is driving to his next gig, when of course car trouble happens and he becomes stranded in the countryside.

What follows is your average onslaught of torture and just general weridness from the locals. Deliverance is a much better film among many other killer redneck films. The lead character's crying is horrible to watch, completely fake and it seems like he is laughing.

A better title would have France needs Women!
