Review of Call Northside 777 (1948) by David S — 15 Jul 2007
Told in a strict documentary style, the film is interesting as a record of how police procedures operated during its time and what technology was available to them. Stewart gives a wonderful performances as always, an there is genuine suspense as Stewart races to solve an 11 year old crime, but unfortunately the documentary approach makes it more emotional distant and thus not as involving as it could have been.
None the less, it's a very good film noir.
