Review of Call Northside 777 (1948) by Brad S — 01 Nov 2014
An excellent docu-noir from 1948 that was based on a true story. This was one of the first Hollywood films shot almost entirely on-location in Chicago. Stewart plays a reporter trying to prove the innocence of a guy convicted of killing a cop.
It actually features the real guy who invented the lie-detector test as he plays himself is. The real-life reporter it's based on won a Pulitzer-prize for this story. Check it out!
