Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Terry M — 19 Oct 2018
I saw "Call Me By Your Name" this afternoon. Amazing and beautiful. Such a reminder of what it's like to be a gay 17 year old and fall love for the first time. One of the most sensual movies I have ever seen and yet filmed with such innocence and taste.
The film broke my heart. I had a big, BIG cry at the end of the film. The film hit home in a big way. Fantastic performances all around. Timothee Chalamet gives an incredible performance.
Plus the icing on this wonderful cake was the songs by my beloved Sufjan Stevens.
The novel was fantastic, but I loved the movie even more. James Ivory's adaption is a triumph.
This film is not for everyone, but it is exquisite!
