Review of Caligula (1979) by Alyssa N — 04 Aug 2007
This somewhat historically accurate film definitely lives us to its controversial reputation: there's lots of perverse, gratuitous, hardcore sex. But it's Malcolm McDowell's priceless performance that elevates the movie to a level above pornography.
Though some say he is a bit over-the-top, his acting style fits with the rest of the movie and really brings life to what would otherwise have been a surprisingly tedious film.
