I would say this movie was killed in the editing room, but then there's that boat brothel sequence that was trash before it even had the chance to be edited. Somehow I don't think that was in Vidal's script.

Cool set though. The film has pieces of something interesting (maybe even brilliant), but its compelling opening just unravels into unintelligible ostentation.
