Review of Cabin Fever (2003) by K R — 09 May 2009
A pretty solid indie horror from the now famous hostel director. maybe one of the best moments of the whole movie is eli roth's brief cameo as the westcoast brah. a couple of moments were complete views into eli roth's unsettling style of horror and really set the tone for hostel and his later flicks.
I guess you are either a fan of his visceral, gory style or you aren't. I love how perfectly he played the horror cliche's out for laughs and provided a few nods to horror classics, but his technical limitations prevented this from really going to that great place that, in my opinion, he takes you to in hostel.
a few mis-steps, but definitely a good effort.
