Review of Cabaret (1981) by Luis Diego R — 21 Sep 2009
So I decided to rewatch this film, and came to the conclusion this is probably the most classic musical of the 70's, perfectly portraying 30's Berlin during a post war crisis and when NAZI party began to arouse. With a premise that life is a cabaret, in which people look for some getaways to stop worrying for just a little time when all around is chaotic.
A landmark (in my opinion) in open-minded cinema, with some amazing shots by Bob Fosse and amazing performance by Liza Minnelli as one of the most intriguing female characters in cinema. Oh and the main theme has to be one of the most popular songs in film history!
