Given the talent involved in this film plus the long time gestation on the studio shelve (screened at TIFF in 2011 and didnt hit theatres until 2012 a month before the elections) shows that unfortunately and perhaps unwittingly the filmmakers delivered a best before date turkey.

A wannabe political and social satire between the Conservative politicians aiming for the white house while making their gimmick for the campaign surrounding the Butter sculpture competitions in their own state, and a progressive family who end up adopting a young black girl who shares said talent, the filmmakers try to pass the hokey concept of be the best that you can be while being good to each other.

Would have gone so much better and have less groan out loud moments if they went the straight out farce or even went the Raizing Arizona route rather than movie of the week. Jackman get the most points here for going as far from his action and musical persona as possible as the sleazy car dealer in cohoots with Jennifer Garner.

Olivia Wilde has to be careful or she might get stuck in the good looking eye candy roles however.
