Review of But I'm a Cheerleader (2000) by M. Plummer — 22 Jul 2008
Thought I'd have to tackle this movie sometime. You see.... This movie and I... We started off well. I had always been interested in seeing it, and a few years before I did, someone recommended it to me. But for whatever reason, I overlooked it, but I still knew about movies with the same actors as this.
Then, fate hit me like lightning, and I no longer saw movies like Ichi the Killer and That Movie With Asia Argento. I began to notice this film, and I really wanted to see it.
Well, I saw it, and it was awesome. It became like a favorite to me. I never really thought about watching other movies. As far as I was concerned, this was the only one for me, and I'd want to watch it forever.
Then the disc suddenly snapped in half, and I was quite heartbroken and sad. Suddenly, my entire world came crashing down. I tried to play it off like I hated the movie. I'd be all "Fuck that shit. One star.".
But deep down, I really really wanted to see that movie. And I still do. But I'm comfortable with waiting for another movie. I'm not saying I don't miss it. It's still awkward when it'll come up on TV, and I'll change the channel as if I had never seen it, but whatever. If I can't watch it.... Then that's fine. That's... *fine*.
*tear rolls down cheek*.
I really enjoyed the time I had with this movie. And.... Wow. This review isn't allegorical or anything like that.
Not at all.
