Review of Bullitt (1968) by Gianluca P — 24 Sep 2008
The usual detective movie with lot more. First of all: Steve McQueen. Well, it tells a story about a "policeman" involved in protecting someone who's not the person he pretends to be. A politician needs that person as a witness (does he know he's not the right person?). Up to now, nothing special: was McQueen wasted? No. Indeed, when the witness was killed, Bullitt (McQueen) starts "pushing hard".
Two memorable shots: the car pursuit in San Francisco (a nightmare) and the pursuit at the airport, while airplanes were taking off. And everything seemed to be ordinary stuff for Frank Bullitt.
Super.
