Review of Bugsy (1991) by Paul M — 01 Mar 2009
Although not one of the most memorable gangster movies ever made, Bugsy certainly has some good points, notably the production design, the period lighting and the powerful performance and screen presence of its two stars who add some steam to the noir murk.
Harvey does a fine job as ruthless mobster Mickey Cohen and most of the cast speak the tightly-clipped dialogue with conviction. Could have done with some Godfather/ Casino montages to spice up the pace a little but not a badly-made mob flick nonetheless.
Deffo worth a watch.
