Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Stephen C — 05 Oct 2010
Firstly there is nothing new here that the Wire and the police flims of Sidney Lumet havent covered before.
That said this film does have plenty to recommend it including plenty of good acting and a keen eye for the dangers of police work.
Antoine Fuqua should be commended for his no nonsense approach to the subject matter as he really gets under the skin of Police work in New York.
Secondly the 3 leads are all excellent with Hawke and Gere giving good performances and Cheadle not far behind.
The supporting cast is good too with Wesley Snipes getting a good role for a change and Ellen Barkin as a Rather nasty CIA operative.
The biggest problem for me is how the story is wound up rather too neatly for my liking I would have liked a bit mre flesh on the bones.
A good film then but one you will forget about an hour after watching.
