Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Jonathan P — 15 Mar 2014
From the director of Training Day comes another cop tale that is just as raw and gritty but not nearly as well directed or written. Where Antoine Fuqua excelled with Training Day, Brooklyn's Finest fails.
The story is a jumble dealing with multiple stories of a good undercover cop, a corrupt cop, and a retiring cop who has lost his passion for the job. While strong acting abounds (especially from Wesley Snipes as a Gang leader) Fuqua is unable to mesh the three stories into a coherent and engaging film.
While cop film cliches abound Brooklyn's Finest is still a decent film for fans of the genre.
