Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Grant K — 11 Sep 2013
I saw this movie on HBO once, and it was part of this combo pack I got at Wal-Mart. I certainly didn't hate but I didn't love it either. Films like this need grit, drama, action. It had grit, way too much drama, and not enough action than one chase scene.
A lot of big players in the film. Richard Gere who is a good actor but really wastes his time in the movie. Snipes is a true in and out kind of thing. Cheadle is great but every line he makes has to be so dramatic for his character that it is borderline annoying after a while.
Ethan Hawke is the best in the film, by far, a honest man who is caught in between a true rock and a hard place, he really makes the movie as he does with most of his films. Honestly, I expected more from Fuqua after seeing Training Day, but it was a little below average, and some films are just like that, what can you say?
