Brooklyn's Finest is one of those typical dark, poisonous urban cop-thrillers which evoke questions of what is wrong and what is right when the bad and the good are hand in hand.
Comparisons with the Oscar-winning Training Day are inevitable and one could find so many cliches in Fuqua's movie. As a whole it suffers mainly from predictability and lack of bigger emotional load, but this does not make it unwatchable.
On the contrary, the movie's pace slowly builds up the tension and the moral dilemmas and dramas of the three cops meet up at the never-ending question of what is wrong and what is right. The performances of the trio Gere, Cheadle and Hawke are solid strong with the last one bringing much of the intensity in this movie.
Brooklyn's Finenst will definitely satisfy not only Antoine Fuqua's fans but also those looking for a very good and watchable cop-thriller.
