Review of Brooklyn's Finest (2010) by Se7Enth A — 07 Feb 2011

Crime genre maestro Fuqua helms this crime drama that follows the lives of three cops who have lost their sense of right and wrong. Crooked cops and gangsters collide in the mean streets of Brooklyn. There are desperate choices with dire consequences that people have to make amidst economic despair and mountainous responsibilities.

The plot was intriguing in the beginning then it becomes more ludicrous. Fuqua tries too hard to tie all of the stories together, some scenes felt too long and simply unbelievable. This is a movie filled with talented actors however not all delivered. Aside from Cheadle, the saving grace of Brooklyn's Finest is the action sequences. I am disappointed to say that I did not find the same fulfillment for this movie as I did for Fuqua's last attention grabbing and award winning film, Training Day.
