Review of Bronson (2009) by Rafael L — 05 Feb 2014
This biography film focuses on the struggle of Michael Peterson, who is considered the most violent prisoner in the U.K. but not in form of narration or flashbacks. Bronson is presented from Michael's point of view, recurring to imagination sequences where he's performing some kind of stand-up comedy show.
Nicolas Winding Refn directing it, he embraces the shadows and odd camera angles to demonstrate the madness of the main character. Futuristic techo music as the soundtrack and part of the score, helps to set a tone for the overall film.
A great performance is given by Tom Hardy, not only on the looks but as the full psique of Peterson's personality is so charismatic that even Bronson's mother fell in love with it. This is a great film recommended to anyone that follows the noir genre and dig violent, but suitable scenarios, Bronson is one movie you don't want to miss.
