Review of Bronson (2009) by Shane H — 05 Nov 2014
Weird as hell, which is appropriate given how weird the titular character (and real person is). There's no real story, it seems like a biography of a certain part of this guy's life and delving into his madness is actually really entertaining. It's shot well and very stylized, which is again appropriate.
Of course, this whole thing hinges on Hardy, who's excellent. Other characters really don't matter here, and it's fine that they don't. Because this is Hardy/Bronson's movie and every other human being on the planet is just someone to f**k with. I loved how well the tone, the form and the performance all reinforced this sense of craziness. It really ropes you in, despite its strangeness.
