Review of Bronson (2009) by Pongpunya K — 17 May 2015
A hallucinatory biopic of the infamous British criminal, Nicolas Winding Refn's early English language work takes you into the mind of Michael Peterson laced with black humour and an overwhelming sense of uncontrolled madness.
Although it still comes up a little short on getting to know the man himself, it plays out in a story you could guess he would find hysterical. Powered by an (at the time) unprecedented hurricane of a performance by an unrecognisable Tom Hardy.
Watch it in a double bill with Steven Knight's Locke to prove to any that say Hardy isn't the greatest actor of his generation.
