Review of Broken Blossoms or The Yellow Man and the Girl (1919) by Nate W — 17 Sep 2009
Lillian Gish gives a heartbreaking performance as an abused child who finds comfort and refuge in the loving kindness of an older Chinese gentleman in "Broken Blossoms". Despite being D.W. Griffith's most intimate film (as he was famous for his epics), it is still his most beautiful, capturing the wonderful sets with exquisite photography.
