Broken Blossoms is one of the greatest masterpieces of the Silent Era. Another masterpiece directed by D. W. Griffith. Starring Lilian Gish in her most vulnerable role, her saddest one, the perfect film for her to show her big talent.

I just loved the way Gish made her forced smile with the index and middle fingers. I also wanted to protect the weak and frightened Lucy from that evil boxer that actually wasn't her father. I also enjoyed the short and tragical romance between Lucy (Gish) and Chinky.

The photography is wonderful and the score is really involving.
