I hadn't seen this film since I was a kid, so I figured it was about time to rewatch it. Luckily, its pretty much just as good as I remember. Broadcast News tells the story of three different newspeople, an arrogant handsome new anchor (William Hurt), an intelligent but odd news reporter (Albert Brooks), and a young female producer (Holly Hunter) who has control issues and always believes she is right.

The film follows these three as they coexist in the Washington new bureau of a major television network. A love triangle begins to unfold, leading to a lot of fun. The strongest thing about Broadcast news is most definitely its script.

Its a very genuine look at three different people, with different goals, who all are looking for something, whether its love or success. Its got a lot of funny moments and some very dramatic, even tragic moments as welll.

The script also does a good job at balancing both the love triangle and the commentary on Network News becoming more about sex appeal than sound reporting, which is clearly very relevant today where every reporter is a damn supermodel.
