Review of Broadcast News (1987) by Ice R — 25 Aug 2009

Where has this feature been all my life? Holly Hunter. Wowza. Albert Brooks at his least irritating. Thanks go out to whoever recently quoted this movie because I moved it up to the top of my queue. Then saw it.

I appreciated the movie more for the characters and dialogue than for the News business setting. The interplay between the three leads was so. good. Yes, I think people will rightly criticize it for being too precious or schmaltzy or whatever, but that's what I love about it.

James L. Brooks is definitely hitting on all cylinders with this one.
