In every way echoes to the masterpiece 'Taxi Driver'. It's not without its flaws, but overall I liked the movie-- it's visually excellent, and apart from his narration I liked Cage's performance.
It is a character that is suitable for his 'alcoholic' performance (like the one that get him Oscar in 'Leaving Las Vegas').
