Review of Bringing Out the Dead (1999) by Michael L — 17 Jul 2010
First, I am a huge Martin Scorsese fan. This movie though seems too much like one of his other classic films. Frank Pierce is very similar to Travis Bickle, Robert DeNiro's character from Taxi Driver.
That being said, it is still a pretty good movie. Nic Cage does pretty well as Frank Pierce, a crazy EMS paramedic who is haunted by the patients he has lost. There are great supporting roles by John Goodman, Ving Rhames, and Tom Sizemore as other fellow ambulance driver.
It may not be on par with some of Scorsese's classics, but it is still a good movie.
