Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Patsy H — 13 Sep 2007
No one cares when two unassuming people fall in love. but david lean's version of the noel coward play makes you care. celia johnson and trevor howard play two middle class brits that meet by accident at a train station.
johnson, whose perspective the story is told from, falls in love with howard and he falls in love with her. their love can never be fully realized because they are both married. a great deal of heat and romance is generated in this very quiet, very british and very beautiful five-hankie classic.
