Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Desperately S — 24 Sep 2007
This Noel Coward movie, directed by David Lean is soooo romantic! "A story of the most precious moments in woman's life." That tag line sums it all up. I can relate to housewife Laura Jesson, who meets doctor Alec Harvey at a small cafe on a railway station.
They're both married, but fall in love with each other, and keep on meeting at the cafe, even though they know their love is impossible. For an old black and white movie, it still gets me every time.
And that Trevor Howard just makes me melt.
