Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Lauren H — 20 Jan 2008
Classic in every way, shape and form. Celia Johnson perfects what is quintessentially English...and the whole tone of the film, right down to the last detail is beautiful. Once you start following Laura all you want is answers and you find them - in her emotional account of finding love and loosing it.
Noel Howard captures wonderfully an era, and it will stand as one of the true greats.
