Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Gwen D — 27 Jul 2008
Simply wonderful. A story of how a chance meeting can change everything. Two soul mates who meet, but can never be together because they place the duty as wife/mother and husband/father before their own wants.
Very restrained in their disposition, but clearly the leads do feel things passionately and it is always lurking just under the surface. Heartbreaking and beautiful. Illicit romance depicted rather than a sordid extra-marital affair.
