The best of the stiff upper lip films that came out of Britain in the war/post war era. Just superbly scripted and acted, no smut and plenty of emotion. Rachmaniniov's piano concerto blaring from the radio and steam engines.
...Don't even think of watching the remake they did with Sophia Loren and Richard Burton, this is the real deal.
