A film about a love affair which couldn't continue. Very British and a a good character study of a woman unsure as to if she should end her marriage. It's theme actually suits the black and white -> representing memories, photographs, the dull everyday life Laura was leading. it has a "what if" premise which can still be present in a lot of films, including romances, today.

Her husband did seem very boring sitting all day doing crossword puzzles! no wonder she looked elsewhere. The performances from the three main actors was very good and the the final scenes are very touching and romanic when she doesn't want the doctor to leave her. There's a real build up of tense with the music as she dashes out to the station.

I also enjoyed the style of the film; the voiceover of Laura thinking about telling her story to her husband, and the flashbacks that showed what really happened with her and the doctor.
