Review of Brief Encounter (1945) by Bill T — 01 Jun 2013
I caught this once, at least 20 years ago, and LOVED it, but never got the chance, for whatever reason to see it again until now. Trevor Howard and Celia Johnson play two doomed lovers. Both married and quite happy, until they by chance meet each other.
They're happy for each other, but amazingly, brains go over hearts (which is hardly the case in real life), and have to make some tough decisions. One of my fave Lean movies, he just fills the screen with beauty with the lighting, the composition, and editing.
A total delight to watch again.
