Review In A Nutshell:

Brief Encounter is the story of a woman who recalls back her time with the man she spent her time with on Thursday during the past couple of weeks. This is a good film that speaks about the intensity and sudden escalation that could happen when love strikes at the right moment. Their love grew out of something that most of us would have considered insignificant. The film provides us a question on whether or not their time together was only a stop before they reach their destination. I mean, life delivers us events like this that impact our lives and lets us learn from it, and this story captures that in a genuine and tender way. It provides us a story that only our protagonist knows the ending to, and we are basically passengers in this journey she is leading us to. Brief Encounter may not have made the impression that Summertime did, and it may not be as romantic as I hoped it would be, but it is still a strong entry by Lean and is definitely a film I would like to revisit in the future, as I personally feel there is more to it than I have already discovered, and I can tell that I would be highly rewarded for digging in deeper.
