Review of Brideshead Revisited (2008) by Jouni M — 14 Mar 2009
Plenty of repressed emotions and subtext, as you might expect from from a British period piece. The main character, a youngster played by Matthew Goode, first seems a bit too naive, but it is not hard to identify with him.
He seems like a genuine thinker (and a pronounced atheist at that) who gets entangled with a deeply Catholic aristocratic family who all suffer in the grips of religious indoctrination. Great acting and cinematography all around.
