Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Connie H — 23 Aug 2011
Bride of Frankenstein leaves off where Frankenstein ended, at the windwill. The town is watching it burn to ashes to make sure that the Monster is truly dead. Which of course he isn't becasue he was never fully alive to begin with.
The Monster wanders around trying to find his place in the world and only harms when he is attacked. He tries to make friends with a lady herding sheep but she is afraid of him and only screams and falls off a cliff into a pond.
The Monster helps to pull her out and in doing so saves her but all she can see is his outer looks and not the goodness inside of him. When her screaming brings on a mob of men with guns the monster retreats into the woods and finds a blind man who befriends him and teaches him how to talk.
Meanwhile the wicked Byron is trying to convince Henry Frankenstein to create a female creature. At first Henry is against it but then Byron finds the Monster and gets him to help convince Henry into it by kidnapping his new wife.
Not wanting any harm to come to his bride Henry agrees and makes the Monster a mate.
