Review of Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by Christopher B — 08 Jan 2013
One of the best parts of the film is the opening scene with the fictional portrayal of the author (the versatile Elsa Lancaster in dual roles) giving an exposition of the novel's themes.
Great to have the two leading roles reprised, just a shame that Mrs. Frankenstein and the Mayor were portrayed by new actors. EE Clive seems to be no relation to the star of the film. Watch also for Una O'Conner, Dwight Frye (in a new role), John Carradine (yes, his sons were actors), and a young Billy Barty (Yes, that one!) as the baby. Billy claims to be about 11 when this film was shot, but some film buffs think he was as much as 10 years older!
