Review of Bride & Prejudice (2004) by Simon W — 16 Aug 2009
This is an Indian musical adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. It was interesting to see what characters from the book were going to be adapted into. Mr. Darcy was a millionaire from America, and etc. Naveen Andrews, Sayid from lost, was Mr.
Darcy's from who marries the oldest sister, and he was the most likeable character in the cast. The fatal flaw of this movie is its horrible cheesiness. The cheese is thick, and the music and dances are not fresh, but seem like the writers took amalgamations from all number of other famous musicals.
If you can get through the cheesy jokes, music, and dances, this is a light hearted, maybe even fun, time.
