Review of Brick Lane (2007) by Kerron W — 30 Mar 2008
Beautifully filmed, though I didn't feel the movie got across Nazneen's real escape and independence from her hard life in the same way as the book did in its final chapter. It also changed the perception of her husband and lover.
That said, the performances are terrific and the colours of Bangladesh and Brick Lane - and the depressing reality of London housing - are wonderful.
