Review of Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) by Iikka V — 12 Aug 2013
A film that is very stylish visually with the early sixties socialite themes, good camerawork and there's something I've always liked about technicolor. The soundtrack is also very stylish especially with the recurring Moon River theme.
Audrey Hepburn is quite charming in her role, even if her character is a stereotypical manic pixie dream girl stock character, and the story is simple but entertaining. On the other hand the dialogue isn't as good as in some of the more recent MPDG films, such as Garden State or (500) Days of Summer, and the portrayal of Asians is horribly offensive by modern standards.
