Review of Brainstorm (1983) by Gretchen B — 11 Jan 2010
I love Christopher Walken, so I fully expected to love this film as well. The premise is a group of doctors/scientists make a breakthrough discovery and can record thoughts/memories which can then be experienced by other people, complete with smells/tastes/respiratory changes etc.
The idea is good and the acting was well done but the movie just seemed to go all over the place and often I was bored. Other times, I found myself just looking for continuity problems - a sign that I was not fully engaged in what was going on.
Overall, I don't regret spending my time to watch it but I certainly don't want to see it again.
