Review of Brainstorm (1983) by John F — 13 Jul 2011
Brainstorm is a movie about a very interesting concept; experiencing exactly the same experience as someone else by re-reading the imprints of their mind, in your mind. The problem here, however, is that the plot evolves from a government conspiracy lead film into another direction; post-death affects.
The problem is that the audience is lead to believe the film is going in one direction, only to be concluded with something that is somewhat irrelevant of the first hour. Regardless, besides this major flaw, this movie has magnificent acting, especially on Walken's part and it definitely keeps the audience guessing the direction.
As out of focus and inconsistent as it is, Brainstorm is definitely worth a watch for the sci-fi lovers.
