Review of Boyz n the Hood (1991) by Darren C — 05 Feb 2013
Absolutely the only film I've seen that (probably) accurately shows what was going on in South Central LA in the early 90's. Combine this with NWA's "Staight Outta Compton" album (of which Ice Cube was a major part), and you have a snapshot of the time (and quite possibly of now even).
It also reminds you that Cuba Gooding Jr. could have been soooo much more than "Show Me The Money". Not everyone's cup o' tea, but a well made movie.
