Review of Boyz n the Hood (1991) by Matt D — 05 Jun 2009
Cuba's performance was NOT strong enough to carry this film, and neither was the message. Perhaps I'm in a bad position, being that there have been MUCH better films to come out about this subject, and this was the first of its kind.
But there's just too much working against it to merit a higher rating.
