Review of Bottle Shock (2008) by Jesús H — 25 Jul 2009
I wasn't expecting to get much out of this except a few moments to squee over Alan Rickman, but this turned out to be pretty good. It's my kind of movie - slice-of-life plus a few laughs and big ambitions(of the characters, not of the movie). And it doesn't try too hard to be cinematic or dramatic. It just...is.
The characters are a little caricatured and the plot is uncomplicated, but that's part of why I like it. A kind of late-winter-night-with-popcorn kind of movie.
